What is at the center of who we are at Mohawk
Valley's Trinity United Methodist Church

Our Mission Statement |
Our Mission strategy |
|
To Know God
To Show the Love of Jesus To Share the Gifts of the Spirit
|
Christ, Community, Celebration, Cell and Call with
Courage |
-
Christ always comes first in our lives and is at the
heart of all we do as a church and as individuals
-
God created us to be in
Community. Community is
modeled after the Trinity and after Jesus’
relationship with the disciples. Christians are
meant to be in community not solitary.
-
Which means we gather in weekly
Celebration and
worship. We need to be in worship celebration weekly
unless there are extenuating circumstances. God’s
Spirit touches our spirit in worship and bridges the
distance between our needs and the presence of God.
-
The life of the body is in the
Cell. Various types
of small groups are necessary to meet the individual
needs of believers and seekers. We need to meet in
discipleship groups which meet regularly to
strengthen our walk with God, encourage and care for
each other, and reach out to help others. Other
groups include support groups for particular needs –
divorce recovery, health issues, etc; as well as
ministry teams for specific ministry purposes.
-
Each of us has a special
Call from God. God makes
each of us unique and gives us each special talents
and dreams of our own, a special purpose. No matter
what our age, we each need to learn fully what gifts
we have and how we might best use them to make a
difference in God’s world. We will soon begin
spiritual gifts assessment so that we can make sure
people are in ministry in the most effective ways
possible.
-
Whenever we do God’s work in a culture where the
majority are not focused on God and church, and
whenever we seek to bring change so that we can grow
in Spirit and in size, it requires Courage.
